The Miyagawa Morning Market runs along both banks of the Miyagawa River (Miya River), between the Kajibashi and Yayoibashi bridges3. The market’s own site counts about 304 white tents in a line.
It is a 10-minute walk3 from Takayama Station and a short walk5 from Sanmachi, so you can pair it with the Sanmachi sake-brewery lanes.
The Jinya-mae Morning Market is held in front of Takayama Jinya, covered on the historic government building page. The market’s own site puts it 7 to 8 minutes6 from the station, while the city site says 10 minutes2.
On Takayama Festival days, a 2022 notice says the market runs 6:00 to 15:006. Check that this still applies before you plan around it.
